About Wrightsville Beach Park
The Town of Wrightsville Beach officially obtained Wrightsville Beach Park in 1975. The Park was developed with fields, tennis and basketball courts, tennis back wall, and playground. The Fran Russ Recreation Center was opened for programming in 1990. The event stage was added in June 2011 along with a second basketball court funded through the New Hanover County Parks Bond Referendum and a matching Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant. In October, 2015, the Town of Wrightsville Beach was awarded a grant from Trillium Health Resources for an inclusive playground. The playground was opened for use on June 16, 2016.

I paid the $25.50 for 4 hours but missed one small detail on my account setup so there was a parking ticket. Called immediately The lady said file an appeal and we will take care of it. I did so with proof of my receipts. I fixed the detail ONE hour after I got the ticket. They denied my appeal and expect me to pay another $50 even through i showed proof of payment for the 4 hours we were parked. I am a local. The parking employee was very rude and disrespectful and couldn't be bothered. Disappointing behavior.

We stopped here to let the kids play basketball. It’s a very nice park. People all around enjoying their time there. Everything seems well taken care of. Plenty of parking. And restrooms. Feels very safe. Pet friendly.

AWESOME SUPER FUN PLAYGROUND!!! We have taken our son to Wrightsville Beach s half dozen times or more, but for whatever strange reason, never stopped at this amazing playground for him to play at before!?! And it’s literally right on the way, just blocks from the beach! This playground has DOZENS of different fun things and activities for kids to do or climb on or play with! One of the more creative playgrounds I’ve seen here in NC. Colorful, safe, spread out, and fun! There’s also a stage here at the park, basketball, tennis, I forget if they had a softball field or not. A GREAT PLAYGROUND for your kids! SO COOL! 😁👍👍
